Does Zooomr out-Flickr Flickr?

Charles Wright points to Zooomr, the much hyped better than Flickr service, but misses a key point amongst all the Web 2.0 marketing and world of mouth hype getting around the place on this service, and that’s numbers. Flickr became a must have for many people because everyone else had it, in the same way Skype has come to dominate VOIP (and I’d note in many professional circles text chat as well). Zoomr might have potential, but it will never replace Flickr unless it breaks through the tipping point, like any other Web 2.0 company competing against an incumbent market leader.
